Lawtonians set New Year's resolutions

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._Well, it is that time of year again, time to decide on a New Year's resolution.

The first of the year is a time to set goals, kick bad habits, or do something you have never done before.  After the ball drops at midnight, and the bubbly has gone flat, people all across the world resolve to change. It is a time to better yourself. Whether that means frequenting the liquor store less, or practicing better spending habits.

What about a new bod for a new year? Gyms have a notorious New Year crowd and memberships skyrocket.

And every year, eating healthy tops the list of New Year's resolutions, so folks are saying good bye to the cookies and grabbing and apple in stead.

7 News found folks with a wide range of resolutions, from improving basketball skills to getting better grades. Or maybe you are trying to kick the habit, or resolving to not resolve at all!

"I honestly never do new years resolutions. I never believed in it. If I did start one, it never works," one woman said.

Whatever your resolution for 2013, 7 News wishes you the best of luck and plenty of perseverance.

Another popular resolution for 2013 is always finding a sober ride if you are planning on celebrating.
