Lawton,Okla._It's the end of the year and the holiday season, and many are wondering what to do with their Christmas trees.
Well, now you don't have to because the City of Lawton has come up with a solution. They've designated several bins specifically for Christmas tree disposal in two city parks.
The bins are set up in the parking lot of Kid's Zone/Greer Park, located at Northwest 38th Street and Meadowbrook --- and in Elmer Thomas Park, in the parking lot east of the Museum of the Great Plains, near Northwest Ferris and Northwest 6th Street.
City officials ask that all decoration be removed from the trees before discarding them, and to not put them in plastic bags.
Trees in good condition will be dumped into area lakes to provide habitats for fish , and others will be disposed of at the landfill.
The bins should be up for at least two weeks.
