Lawton,Okla- Meet the first baby born in Lawton this year, David William Elijah Cornett. His proud parents are Heather and David. He was born at 1:10 Tuesday morning, weighing 6lbs. 13oz. and 19 1/2 in. long, making him the first born in 2013 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
"We were just hoping he would come in general, before the induction date. We weren't really expecting it to happen. Just glad that he came out and everything came out fine with him. Make sure he's got all his shots and get all 'prettified' to get his picture taken," said his father, David.
A New Year's Eve gift basket was given to the couple from the hospital. It included a picture frame, a fleece blanket, and a teddy bear for baby David. The Cornetts should be able to take their new addition to the family home by Friday afternoon.
