Altus police arrest man after foot chase

ALTUS, Okla_ An Oklahoma City man driving in Altus in the wee hours of the morning on New Year's Day led police in a chase.

When they stopped Tychance Martin, he immediately took off on foot. He was on the run until police caught up with him in the alley behind a convenience store at 700 East Broadway. Police then found cocaine and marijuana in Martin's car.

The 23-year-old Martin was taken to the Jackson County Jail, arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school or park, obstructing an officer, DUI and driving under a suspended license.
