Dumas Police Chief hearing

Dumas, TX - Dumas city commissioners deliberated for four hours over their longtime police chief.

Dale Alwan Sr. made three appearances before the commissioners during the executive session Monday night.

According to the commission's agenda, they quote "discussed duties, responsibilities, and related matters concerning the police chief."

Dumas city mayor Pat Sims said "there was no action taken.. No action was taken."

The Moore county judge, district  and county attorneys were also  called into the session.

Alwan has been the police chief for 17 years according to Sims.

The meeting was adjourned by 11:45, an unusually late time for such a meeting to end.
