The City of Lawton will be footing the bill for the removal of the dead or dying trees across Lawton.
In Tuesday night's city council meeting council members voted to use to the city's emergency reserve fund to finance the removal of the 306 dead or dying trees.
The removal will cost nearly $160,000---a hefty price tag some councilman wanted property owners or there neighbors to pay.
Other council members argued it was a small price to pay weighed against serious injury or death people could face from injuries caused by falling trees.
