OKLAHOMA: 76 of 77 Counties Declared Natural Disaster Areas

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._

Ongoing drought conditions have caused the U.S. Department of Agriculture to take drastic steps to help farmers.

The department declared 76 of Oklahoma's 77 counties as primary natural disaster areas, making eligible farmers in these areas legible for low-interest emergency loans.

Despite Ottawa County being the single county not considered a primary disaster area, farmers there are still eligible for the loans.

The emergency loans will have an interest rate of 2.5 percent.
