Two arrests lead to discovery of counterfeit bill

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla_ A counterfeiting scheme may have been uncovered after two arrests Monday morning.

Police arrested Tiffany Grooms and Scott Prosser outside a house on 49th and Pollard Avenue  for outstanding warrants in another county.

Tuesday we learned Prosser may have been in even more trouble after he allegedly handed over a counterfeit $100 dollar bill to a city jailer when he was being booked.

Wednesday Prosser was charged with uttering a forged instrument. Police say they believe he's involved in the passing of several recent counterfeit bills. The case remains under investigation.
