Altus- An Altus man is sentenced to two years in federal prison for illegal possession of a claymore mine.

He is 59-year old Dale Howard Bruno. According to court records, he was an instructor at Fort Sill when he stole the mine. It was a tip that led law enforcement to the discovery. A claymore mine is a military weapon filled with C-4 plastic and steel ball bearings. It's engineered to kill or cause injuries over a large area.

Bruno pleaded guilty in September ahead of his sentencing.
