Lawton Police Still Searching Home of Murder Victim

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON Okla_ Lawton police continue to search for clues as to what led up to the killing of Sarah McCoy early last week.

The crime scene has remained taped off and guarded by officers for a week, but Monday a portion of the road in front of McCoy's home was reopened to traffic. While police admit having a controlled crime scene for this length of time is unusual, they wouldn't comment on why or how much longer it will last.

"At this point, we're not really sure how long the guys are going to have to stay out there," Lawton Police Captain Craig Akard said, "Until we are convinced that there is nothing we can get out of the house."

Police say no one has been arrested, and they have not positively ruled out any one in question.
