Backyard car crash knocks out power to west Lawton homes

Lawton- Power is back on for two west Lawton homes Thursday morning after a car crashed into a backyard.

It happened Wednesday night in the 7800 block of northwest Rolando Road. That's just a block south of Rogers Lane. The car went through a fence into the backyard. The driver hit some electrical lines and knocked out power to two homes before taking off.

No word yet if police have identified or located the driver.

    Two teens are lucky to be alive after allegedly stealing a car in Lawton early Tuesday morning and crashing into a tree next to the Fort Sill Golf Course. Lawton Police were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle just before 5:00 a.m. The vehicle drove through Scott Gate on Fort Sill Boulevard until the road ends at King Road.  The driver was unable to navigate the curve near Upton Road near hole #15 on Fort Sill's Golf Course at such a high rate of speed.
