Local teacher to stand trial on gun charge

Posted: Updated:

Lawton_William Trice, an Eisenhower High School teacher who has been charged with having a gun on school property, was ordered Thursday to stand trial in May.

Court records show another teacher saw a nine-millimeter pistol in Trice's briefcase and told the principal, who contacted the school's police department.

Trice told them he brought the gun by accident. He does have a conceal-carry permit.

Trice is not allowed on any Lawton Public School property.
