Man sentenced to 15 years for child abuse

Lawton_A Lawton man convicted of child abuse will serve fifteen years in prison.
Charles Hennessee, III appeared in a Comanche County courtroom earlier this month and pleaded guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors say Hennessee scalded the little boy in April of last year. He was taking care of his girlfriend's son while was she was at work. His girlfriend, Stephanie Avery, told investigators he called her that morning and told her what happened. But, the couple waited until later that evening to take the boy to the hospital, where he was treated for severe burns.

Avery was sentenced to ten years in prison, after being convicted of enabling child abuse.
