UPDATE: Power restored in Lawton following car crash

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla_ Power has been restored for all of Lawton following a wreck that caused it to go out in some parts.

The crash happened near 40th and Lake Tuesday night. Police say a car hit a street sign and power pole before taking off. That apparently caused the outage along Northwest 38th Street and Gore Boulevard. Dispatchers reported Comanche County Memorial Hospital was also on back-up generators for a while. We also received reports of Cameron University having some power problems, but again, PSO's website shows power has been restored to all who were affected.

While the power was out, so were some traffic lights along 38th Street. Dispatchers told police one person was hurt following a car crash at the Gore Boulevard intersection. At this point, we're not sure how bad the injuries were.
