Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Republicans in the Oklahoma House are expected to release the details of their legislative agenda before next week's start of the session.

New House Speaker T.W. Shannon of Lawton will discuss the GOP's goals during a press conference on Thursday in advance of Monday's start of the session.

Shannon has said economic development will be among the group's top priorities, including an overhaul of the workers' compensation system and a tax cut. Shannon also says he supports a modest tax cut and wants to expand talk of a tax cut to include a possible reduction in the business franchise tax and corporate income tax.

He also has suggested developing a multi-year plan for improving the state's infrastructure, including state-owned buildings.

Republicans hold a 72-29 majority in the House.
