Oklahoma City- If you do not have auto insurance, some Oklahoma lawmakers want to take your car tag.
They've filed two bills at the state capitol that would allow law enforcement officers to remove tags from uninsured vehicles and replace them with temporary tags. The plans would also create temporary insurance coverage for the cars. The owner would have to pay for it, plus some other fees in order to get their tag back.
The state insurance department says more than 500,000 cars are currently uninsured in Oklahoma.
