COMANCHE, Okla_ Comanche police said a boy is recovering with a broken leg at OU Medical Center Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car Wednesday.

Authorities said they were called to near 10th and hickory about 3:30 yesterday evening. They said a 17-year-old driver hit a 6-year-old riding his bike. Authorities said the driver told them he did not have enough time to stop after the child appeared out of no where into the road from behind a parked car.

Authorities said neither speed nor any type of drugs played a factor into the accident.
