Elgin HS FFA students host livestock show

Posted: Updated:

Lawton_Students from the Elgin High School FFA are hosting their annual livestock show at the Great Plains Coliseum Annex building on Friday, February 8 beginning at 8 am.

The purpose of the show is to show the benefit of FFA in the lives of local youth by teaching work ethic, responsibility and compassion for animals as well as an understanding of the business of livestock breeding and farming.

The Elgin Chapter hopes to raise awareness of the different show projects that are raised locally and also teach about the numerous breeds of the four species that are being shown.

Livestock management and farming is an important industry and way of life for many people in Southwest Oklahoma.   The students would like to share their knowledge with the general public.
