Norman Schools Locked Down After Jail Escape

Posted: Updated:

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Norman police say several schools have been locked down while authorities search for a McClain County jail escapee on the city's southwest side.

Norman police captured one escapee after a traffic stop Monday morning, but a second escapee fled on foot and was believed to be armed.

McClain County Undersheriff Bill Schobe says 21-year-old Chase Clemons was back in custody, but 28-year-old Taylor Brotherton remained at large. Both men were from Oklahoma City and jailed for drug possession.

Schobe says the two men were working at the McClain County Expo Center in Purcell when they stole the keys from a county vehicle and drove away.
