UPDATE: Republic Plant Fire Not Caused by Equipment

Lawton, Okla._ Monday night's fire at Lawton's Republic Paperboard Company was not caused by a piece of equipment, after all.
It was caused by something outside the equipment and spread to the equipment. A spokesman said they hope to have a better understanding of exactly what happened by Wednesday.
The Lawton Fire Department said the blaze broke out around 9:00 PM Monday. The fire melted a fiberglass walkway around a machine, and some of the flames dropped to a lower level.
Employees were evacuated for a time but Tuesday, work went back to normal.
