CACHE, Okla_ It will be the
trip of a lifetime for some Cache High School Band members, but they need your
help getting there.
As you may
already know, the students have been invited to play in this year's Memorial Day
Parade in Washington D.C. It's going to cost around $65,000 for
the entire band and their chaperones to get there. That's why they're holding a
concert/auction Thursday night to raise money for the trip.
"We're
going to be put on a national stage," Cache High School Band Director Benjamin
Silber said. "It's one thing to represent Cache, Oklahoma
in a statewide event, but to go to Washington
D.C. to be on TV and to be a part
of this parade is a big thing for Cache. It's a big thing to honor our
veterans. It's important to us."
The auction
concert will take place Thursday night in the Annex Building
of the Great Plains Coliseum.
Some of the
items up for grabs include a four-wheeler ATV, living room set, tires and OU
footballs signed by Barry Switzer, Jason White and Billy Sims.
