Sausage Recall

Posted: Updated:

The Smithfield Packing Company is pulling 38,000 pounds of pork sausage off shelves.

The meat was sold in Texas and nearly a dozen other states.

Officials say the sausages may contain bits of plastic, likely from gloves.

The recalled products are 1-pound packages of Gwaltney mild pork sausage roll with a use-by date of March 12, 2013.

The company discovered the problem after two consumer complaints, but there have been no reports of injuries.
