Amarillo Police responding to stranded vehicle calls

Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Police Department says they've responded to dozens of vehicle wrecks and stranded vehicles.

Since midnight, they estimate they've received around 230 calls. They tell us 50 of those calls were in response to stranded vehicles.

Officers say they are finding multiple cars stranded when responding to a location.

Area towing companies have also been helping out. One company we spoke with says they responded to five stranded police cars this morning.
