SUV crashes into utility pole

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla_Traffic was shut off to a south Lawton road for a few hours early Thursday evening after an SUV smashed into a utility pole. The driver was headed west on N.H. Jones around 4:30 when she swerved to miss someone in the road.

That's when she crashed into the power pole, knocking it down.
When police arrived, they closed off the road as a precaution as they waited for power crews to arrive.

It left 277 customers without power. So far, all but 49 homes have had their power restored. PSO estimates the remaining homes should get their power back by midnight.
