Families Car Wrecked After Hit and Run Accident

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._

Lawton police arrested a 32-year-old driver following a hit and run accident that totaled a parked car Friday night.

Police were called to a families home near 43rd and Cache Road just before 9:00 p.m. after they were startled by a loud crash and ran outside.

The family found their parked car smashed after police believe 32-year-old Russell Bradwell rear ended the vehicle while driving intoxicated.

Once Bradwell was located police said he admitted to driving into the car after he reached for his cell phone and suddenly his airbags deployed.

The family said the speed along their road was an issue and were sick and tired of seeing cars fly down their street.
