
An aggravated assault early Saturday morning left one Amarillo woman fighting for her life.
Amarillo police report responding to a disorderly conduct call Saturday morning just after 5:45 a.m. in the 200 block of S. Florida. The caller, a 28-year-old female reported a man, later described as an ex-boyfriend, standing in front of her car, refusing to leave.
Once on scene, officers found 29-year-old Brandon Allen Stallings standing next to the victim's car. When officers approached Stallings, he fired several rounds from a handgun into the windshield of the car, striking the victim several times. Stallings dropped the gun and fled, but after a short pursuit on foot, he was captured and booked in the Potter County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Evading Arrest.
The female victim was taken to North West Texas Hospital with life threatening injuries.
