Sequestration Cuts in Texas

El Paso, TX - The effect of the sequestration cuts is beginning to be felt at Fort Bliss in El Paso.

Officials say most of the 11,000 civilian employees on base will be hit with a 20 percent pay cut starting April 21 until the end of September.

It's expected the shortened hours for civilians will mean long lines for soldiers all over the base.

Exemptions have been submitted to keep base schools and health-care providers unaffected.
