Posted: Updated:

Altus, Okla._If you hear the sirens sounding in Altus Wednesday morning, don't worry. Altus Air Force Base will be conducting a severe weather exercise.

The 97th Air Mobility Wing will start the test at 8 a.m. Residents on base or nearby can expect to hear the warning sirens, as well as broadcasted alerts and radio messages.

During the beginning of the test, gates will close for inbound and outbound traffic for about 30 minutes.

Once the test is complete and given the "all clear", the base will resume normal operations.
