DUNCAN, Okla_The Duncan City Council voted Tuesday night to set a special election in May for a $9 million street project. It would be paid for through an increase in property taxes.
Mayor Gene Brown says there are 250 streets on the list, making it a city-wide project. The election is set for May 14th. The council also approved a four stage water restriction policy. The city is not under restrictions now, but they took the action after monitoring the city's water usage and rainfall over the past six months.
