LPS Superintendent Search Narrowed to Three

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON Okla_ The Lawton Board of Education has narrowed its search for the replacement of current LPS Superintendent Barry Beauchamp to three candidates.

Beauchamp has been in the position for over 13 years and will retire this summer. Of the 15 people who originally applied, eight were interviewed and just three have made it through to the second round of the interview process. The Board has had significant input from the public through open forums, meetings with community leaders, and online surveys.

Board President Kent Jester said they expect to have completed these secondary interviews by Thursday. They are still on track to announce the successor by April 1st.
