Curry County Jail inmate transferred after attacking officer

Posted: Updated:

An accused killer held in Curry County Jail has been transferred to a state facility after he became violent with a detention officer at the jail.

According to the Clovis News Journal, Jimmy Reagan was in Curry County Jail for nine months, but was transferred to an undisclosed state facility on Friday, just days after he stabbed a detention officer in the face with a pencil and attempted to escape on March 9th. Records show this was not the first violent act committed by Reagan in his stay at Curry County.

He's now being detained in a place that is equipped to handle violent inmates. The 31-year-old currently faces 28 felony charges including murder, kidnapping, home invasion and sexual assault.
