Investigation into a hit and run accident leads to a Lawton man's arrest

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla_An investigation into a Sunday morning hit and run accident ends in a Lawton man's arrest.

Police were called to a house in the 2300 block of Northwest 20th about a hit and run accident at 19th and Lincoln. The driver, a woman, ditched the wrecked car, but left her license inside of it.

Officers arrived at her house and started questioning her about the accident, when they say her boyfriend, Reinaldo Cordero, walked up and started acting suspicious. Police say he even lied about his name.

Then, he took off and tried to jump a fence. Officers caught up with Cordero and arrested him on charges of resisting an officer.

It is unclear at this time if anything will happen to the woman, even though she was the reason officers first went out.
