Two men in custody for alleged drive-by-shooting

Amarillo, TX - Two men are now behind bars in connection with an alleged drive-by-shooting.

Police say just after 7:00 Tuesday night gunfire was heard in downtown Amarillo.

Upon further investigation police discovered six bullet holes in the side of a home near southwest 2nd Street and Jackson.

Neighbors reported seeing a small silver or grey car fleeing the scene.

A vehicle matching that description was located and two men were arrested after police report finding a semi-automatic pistol during a search.

18-year-old Michael Reyes faces charges for deadly conduct discharge of a firearm, and 28-year-old Eric Benwire is being charged as felon in possession of a firearm.

    A Lawton man was taken to the hospital late Friday night after suffering a gun shot wound, but police are still searching as to how it happened because the man has been uncooperative.
