No agreement reached between Goodyear & Comanche County Assessor

Posted: Updated:

Comanche County, Okla._The ongoing legal battle between Lawton's Goodyear Plant and the Comanche County Assessor's office will go to trial.

Wednesday, the two sides met for a mediation hearing to try and settle a dispute, but they failed to reach an agreement.

It's over the company's property value assessment for 2011. Goodyear's valuation was set at a little over $70-million, and the company says that's too high.

Comanche County Assessor Rick Strickland says that figure is accurate, because it includes future reconstruction.

No word on when the trial will begin. Comanche County Judge Gerald Neuwirth is expected to hear the case.
