A new voice for Big Tex?

Dallas, TX - The longtime voice of the iconic 52-foot-tall cowboy welcoming visitors says that his contract wasn't renewed.

Bill Bragg served as Big Tex's voice for the last 11 years.

Bragg says he's "shocked'' by the decision.

State Fair spokeswoman Sue Gooding said that Bragg's contract is handled from year to year, and that Bragg won't be offered a contract for the upcoming season.

She declined to specify what, if anything, led to the change.
