DUNCAN Okla_ A police pursuit through the streets of Duncan this afternoon lands a young man behind bars. Police still don't know why they teenager took off in the first place.

Authorities say it started around noon, when an officer tried to stop an 18-year-old driver for speeding on the 400 block of south 27th Street. The chase went through several neighborhoods and even an alley with the suspect driving up to 60 MPH. He ran two road blocks and eventually ended up in the Duncan High School teacher's parking lot. That's where police arrested him.

Now, the teen faces several traffic violations, and police still can't figure out why he took off in the first place. They say he had a valid driver's license and insurance.

Duncan Public School Superintendent Dr. Sherry Labyer said the students were held in their classrooms until police escorted the suspect off campus. None of the students were harmed.
