R.O.T.C. cadets across the state arrive at Ft. Sill for Camp Eagle

Posted: Updated:

Lawton,Okla_R.O.T.C. cadets from four Oklahoma colleges arrived at Fort Sill Thursday. They are performing joint field training exercises at Camp Eagle.

The future officers from Cameron, OSU, OU, and UCO will get four days worth of training here.   Lieutenant Colonel Dave Zaccheus said these exercises will help reveal their leadership qualities.

Some of the things LTC Zaccheus considered were, "how well do they lead? how well do they influence others? What do they do to excel at leadership?"

He also told us that it's the first real training these officers will get. It included a day's worth of situational training, such as day and night land navigation. They will also patrol for a day and a half while completing various objectives, ranging from communications to medical response.
