Western Dressage Clinic in Amarillo

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - The first ever Western Dressage Clinic was held in Amarillo over the weekend.

The clinic is part of the Western Dressage Association and helps the horse and ride to train together.

Riders from all over the panhandle area are learning ways to teach their horses to walk run and trot as one with the rider.

"Where dressage looks and what's its about where their doing. It's about timing and finesse and the partnership between the rider and the horse. What is actually takes." says Mike Corcoran Dressage Specialist.

Unlike many western classes in which many horses compete at once.

Western Dressage offers the chance for the rider and the  horse to obtain feedback from a judge that is watching the rider and only the rider.

Sponsors of the Texas panhandle clinic are already planning for more in the near future.
