2 dead in shootout with police in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma City police say two people sought by U.S. Marshals were killed in a shootout with law officers in southeast Oklahoma City.

Capt. Dexter Nelson told reporters that the shooting Tuesday night began after a U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force tried to serve felony warrants on the two at an Oklahoma City motel.

Nelson says the two began to drive away _ then opened fire when they were stopped by a police patrol car that collided with their vehicle. No law officers were injured in the shooting.

The names of the two dead and what they were wanted for was not immediately released.
