Imaging technology aids local chiropractors

Amarillo, TX - In just the last few decades, we've seen unprecedented innovation in everything from computers to communications to medicine.  And the latest innovation in the world of chiropractics uses your feet as a litmus test of your spinal health.

According to the American Chiropractic Association, 80 percent of the population will experience some sort of back problem in their lifetime.  And for many, those problems require specialized devices called orthotics.

3D Body View uses biometric scans of a patients feet to provide a spinal diagnosis and highly customized specifications for recommended orthotics.

"If you've had some arch issues, then that can also give you knee issues, which can also perpetuate the SI, or sacroiliac issues," explains Dr. Jeff Williams of Amarillo Pain & Accident Chiropractic Clinic.  "So this is another way of making a minimal investment to make the treatment even more effective."

The scan provides the results to a Florida company that can then use that data to design treatment options for each individual patient, as Dr. Williams explains, "If the patient decides that custom orthotics is what they're interested in, it can then send the information through the internet to Foot Levelers, and they can craft custom orthotics just for that foot. So there's no two orthotics that are exactly alike."
