Boston, MA - Suspect #1 in the Boston Marathon bombings is dead and suspect # 2 is still on the loose.

He's identified as 19-year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

The bomb suspects are brothers, according to their uncle.

They are from Russia near the region of Chechnya.

The older brother has been the US for some time, the other about only a year.

The incidents all started Thursday night in Watertown around 10:20, a police officer for MIT was shot and killed on the campus.

Officers from state and city police responded to the scene.

Hardly an hour later, they were chasing at least one suspect in a hijacked vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle was released unharmed.

There have been reports that explosives were involved before police were able to corner the vehicle.

One suspect was shot in an exchange of gunfire with transit police and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

He has been identified as 26-year-old Tamerlan Tzarnaev.

Authorities believe he is suspect #1 in the Boston bombings and is wearing a black hat in the photo.

The other man, Dzhokar Tzarnaev, who is believed to be suspect #2 in the Boston bombings, wearing the white hat, is still at large.

Right now more than 9,000 officers from various police departments and the FBI are searching house to house in the neighborhood of Watertown, trying to track him down

At least one of the brothers had attended a local community college.

According to a CBS special report, a woman believed to be connected to the brothers has been taken into custody.

It's unknown what her relation to the brothers is.
