New UIL recommendations

The University Interscholastic League's Medical Advisory Committee has unanimously recommended limiting football practices.

The group wants programs to have no more than 90 minutes of full-contact, game-speed practices per player per week during the regular season and playoffs in an effort to reduce concussion risks.

Every recommendation the group has been approved since it was formed in 2001.

The Texas High School Coaches Association has already voted in favor of the proposal.
