Infrastructure bill heads to the House for a vote

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma_State buildings badly in need of repair will be getting a makeover and bonds won't be issued to cover the costs.  Oklahoma Senate has passed House Speaker T.W. Shannon's bill which would create an 8 year plan to improve state buildings and properties.

Shannon has pushed for a "pay as you go" payment plan mainly because house members opposed issuing bonds to pay for state projects.

The bill would create a commission to develop a prioritized list of properties in need of repair and state assets which could be liquidated to help fund the  projects. The bill now returns to the house for a vote.
