Blood donors needed after early morning shooting

Amarillo, TX - Thursday morning's shooting is putting a strain on an area blood bank.

We spoke with Coffee Memorial Blood Center and they tell us they are in desperate need of donors.

The three people who were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds all required type O-negative blood when they first arrived so they could be stabilized.

This has left type O-negative at a critically low level.

Coffee Memorial says our area's blood supply can quickly change and that's why they need the community's help.

Anyone with O-negative blood type is urged to stop by their office today.
