Firefighters take on law enforcement in 'Battle of the Badges'

Area police officers and firefighters dropped their normal duties for the night and picked up their boxing gloves, to duke it out in this year's Battle of the Badges.

Things kicked off around seven o'clock Saturday night. Amarillo police officers and Amarillo firefighters battled it out at the Amarillo Civic Center in order to raise money for charity, the proceeds benefit the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle.

"It's between the firemen and the policemen, and actually my dad had this idea a couple years ago and its in order to raise money for The 100 Club,' said one organizer. "It's for firemen or policemen who get injured or killed on the job, so its for charity."
