Lawton Woman Admits to Food Stamp Fraud

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON Okla_ A Lawton woman who is accused of scamming the Oklahoma Department Human Services out of almost $14,000 in food stamps could spend two years in prison.

Investigators say Alana Buckner lied about her husband's $98,000 per year salary. They say she received the benefits from July of 2010 to June of 2012.

They say Buckner told DHS workers that her husband didn't live with her and only paid $800 per month in child support.

It was later determined that the two did live together and he paid all of the bills. Investigators say Buckner admitted to the scam.

She is also facing a $5,000 fine.
