Amarillo, TX - Amarillo police are still investigating a local shooting after a man with a gunshot wound stumbled into a convenience store for help.
Police say it happened around 8:00 Tuesday night, when the 32 year old victim told store employees he had been shot.
It was at the Toot-N-Totum at 301 Ross St where the victim was found and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police discovered that he had driven to the store after initially being shot at a home in the 1300 block of SE 5th.
Officers say they recovered the firearm used, a small caliber handgun.
The shooting appears to be related to a previous relationship involving a female and the man who was shot but the incident remains under investigation.
Questions include whether the U.S. had adequate intelligence, equipment and training, whether there was an accurate assessment of the threat in that area, and how the U.S. troops became separated in the fight.
