Amarillo, TX - In a civil lawsuit filed in Potter County, a former pet food company employee is suing Merrick Pet Care Incorporated.
Bryan Smith filed suit Thursday against Merrick and its parent company, Tejas Industries, for more than a million dollars over a February incident in which he lost one leg and both feet.
The suit claims smith was cleaning a meat mixer by hand after his supervisor left his post early.
That's when Smith says someone turned the mixer on while he was inside, causing him to lose his right leg and left foot.
He is now seeking damages for severe pain and suffering, mental and emotional anguish, physical impairment, medical expenses, and loss of earnings.
