Door-to-door scams in Amarillo

Posted: Updated:

Warmer weather often means an increase in door-to-door salesmen.

The Amarillo Police Department is urging residents to use caution because criminals sometimes pose as salesmen to scam unsuspecting residents.

All door-to-door solicitors need to have proper registration and a government issued identification card.

If approached, police say it is best to ask and see the proper documents before doing any business. If the salesperson does not have a permit or ID, call the Amarillo Police at 378-3038.
