LAWTON, Okla._

Two people were sent to the hospital Saturday afternoon after Oklahoma Highway patrolmen said they were unexpectedly thrown from a motorcycle.

It happened just one mile west of the Snyder bridge on Highway 62.

The driver told troopers he pulled over onto the road's shoulder to inspect a loose chain on his bike when the accident happened.

The driver said he thought the bike was out of gear when in fact it wasn't. He said the motorcycle suddenly accelerated causing him to lose control of it.

Both the driver and a female passenger were transported to the hospital their conditions are unknown.
